NEW YORK STATE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR KATHY HOCHUL, SENATE MAJORITY LEADER CHARLES SCHUMER AND CONGRESSMAN JERRY NADLER ISSUE JOINT STATEMENT

Albany, NY – New York State Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul, Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer and Congressman Jerry Nadler issued the following statement after today’s bipartisan congressional delegation meeting:

“We had a collaborative and productive conversation with members of the New York Congressional Delegation today to discuss our shared priorities of working collaboratively to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, improve our infrastructure, and strengthen our economy.

That includes fighting the pandemic by increasing the vaccination rate, combating the spread of the Delta variant, ensuring our students are safe in schools, and expediting the distribution of federal relief funding for renters and landlords through New York State.

We also have a once in a lifetime opportunity to strengthen our infrastructure and build for the future. We will continue to work together to ensure the critical needs of New Yorkers are met.

During this historic moment, we recognize that it is more important than ever for the incoming Governor and the entire delegation to work hand in hand. Working together, we will rebuild our economy during this crisis and make sure New Yorkers get the aid they need and deserve to stay in their homes, keep food on the table, and keep small businesses alive.”
