Reps. Maloney, Nadler & King praise addition of prostate cancer to list of covered conditions under WTC Health Program

Reps. Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY), Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), and Peter King (R-NY), lead sponsors of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, today offered the following joint statement praising approval of the final rule which adds prostate cancer to the official List of WTC-Related Health Conditions:

“Today’s decision by Dr. James Howard, WTC Health Program Administrator, to add prostate cancer to the list of covered conditions continues to fulfill the mission of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010 to take care of injured and ill 9/11 responders and survivors who, a dozen years later, still suffer the effects of the toxins released at Ground Zero.”

The final rule was posted yesterday on the Federal Register’s website and was officially published today. The rule will go into effect 30 days after publication, and is available at the following link: https://www.ofr.gov/OFRUpload/OFRData/2013-22800_PI.pdf
