In response to the latest attacks in Israel, at Hebrew University, Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) issued the following statement.

"I join with so many of my colleagues in condemning the latest murderous attacks on innocent Israelis and Americans, at Hebrew University, at the hands of Hamas.  I offer my condolences to all of the victims' families for the loss of their loved ones, at least one of whom resided here in Brooklyn.

The latest episode of murder of Israeli and American civilians makes it clear that armed Palestinians see no borders.  Murder is their game, the elimination of Israel is their goal, and the nationality of those murdered does not matter to them.  The latest attacks makes even more clear the duplicitous and terrorist role played by Yasser Arafat and the Palestinian Authority.  The PA has made no real effort to limit or stop the terror, has itself initiated terrorist attacks, and has attempted to smuggle in arms intended to escalate the terror.

The United States -- indeed all civilized countries -- obviously must condemn this violence.  But condemnation is not enough.  We must strongly support the right of Israel to take whatever measures she deems necessary in her own defense.  And now, sadly, we must support any action deemed necessary to protect innocent Americans from the Palestinian murder machine, as well."
