Nadler: So-Called 'Emergency' Hearing on Clinton's Email is Another Manufactured Crisis Meant to Discredit DOJ, Distract from Russia Probe

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) released the following statement in response to Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) calling an “emergency” hearing with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Christopher Wray without the required 7 day notice given to Ranking Members:

“This rushed hearing is a desperate attempt to change the subject after a terrible week for House Republicans.  It is yet another manufactured crisis being used by the Republicans to discredit the Department of Justice, the FBI, and, ultimately, the work of the Special Counsel. There are a number of actual emergencies facing our country at this moment.  None of them have anything to do with Hillary Clinton’s email.”
