Nadler & Cicilline Applaud President Biden’s Intent to Nominate Jonathan Kanter for Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust

Washington, D.C. - Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) and Subcommittee on Antitrust, Commercial, Administrative Law Chairman David N. Cicilline (D-RI) issued the following joint statement after President Joe Biden announced his intent to nominate Jonathan Kanter for Assistant Attorney General for the Antitrust Division at the Department of Justice:

“President Biden is once again following through on his promise to fight for the economic opportunity and dignity of working families. Jonathan Kanter is an immensely talented attorney who will guide the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division during a critical moment in our nation’s history. He has been a strong advocate for strengthening antitrust enforcement and promoting competition throughout the U.S. economy. Make no mistake, Kanter is absolutely the right person for this job at this moment. We applaud President Biden for continuing to put hardworking Americans ahead of corporate monopolies, and we look forward to working with the Justice Department as we advance legislation to lower prescription drug prices, prohibit anticompetitive conduct and mergers online, and modernize the antitrust laws.”
