Nadler & Lofgren Statement on Family Reunification Task Force's Initial Progress Report
Washington,

Washington, D.C. - Today, the Interagency Task Force on the Reunification of Families (Task Force) released its Initial Progress Report. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) and Immigration and Citizenship Subcommittee Chair Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) issued the following statement in response: “This initial report released today by the Task Force makes it clear that important strides are being made to mitigate the immeasurable harm that resulted from the Trump Administration’s cruel family separation policy. However, much more must be done to ensure that every child is swiftly reunited with their parent or legal guardian in the United States. “Further, for many of these families, reunification alone is not enough. We look forward to receiving future Task Force reports, which we expect will include recommendations and plans for additional support and services for families in need.” |
