New York, N.Y. — Today, Congressman Jerrold Nadler (NY-10) announced more than $1.1 million in federal funding provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) for six New York institutions, including New York University and the New York Historical Society. This funding will support a range of projects in New York which make important contributions to our history and culture, and ensure the humanities are more accessible to the public.
"I am so proud of the wonderful institutions in our City that have been selected by the NEH to receive this new funding," said Congressman Nadler. "Everyone knows New York City as a world renowned center for arts and culture, and it is vital that we continue to provide robust funding to the institutions that strive to expand the boundaries of human knowledge and preserve our history for future generations. It is an honor to represent such a diverse district which continues to make important contributions to our history and culture."
The National Endowment for the Humanities supports research and education in history, literature, philosophy, and other areas of the humanities by awarding competitive grants to related programs and institutions across the United States. Additional information about the NEH and its grant programs is available at www.neh.gov.
