Nadler Praises World Trade Center Development Agreement

Today, Congressman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), the Member of Congress who represents lower Manhattan including the World Trade Center (WTC) site, released the following statement in response to the announced agreement on the development of the World Trade Center site by the States of New York and New Jersey, the City of New York, the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and Silverstein Properties, Inc.:
“I am pleased with today's agreement regarding the development of the WTC site," said Nadler. “I want to applaud all of the parties for their hard work and perseverance in resolving the extremely complicated issues regarding the development plan. This agreement on towers 2, 3, and 4 will allow construction on the 9/11 Memorial, the World Trade Center hub, and 1 World Trade Center to move forward on schedule. “On behalf of my constituents in lower Manhattan, I would like to personally thank Governor Paterson, Mayor Bloomberg, Speaker Sheldon Silver, Port Authority Executive Director Chris Ward and Larry Silverstein for their dedication to ensuring that lower Manhattan will be rebuilt.” |
