Congressman Jerrold Nadler (NY-08), Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, today issued a response to the Supreme Court’s decision in Gonzales v. Carhart:

“The Supreme Court has shown its anti-choice stripes.  It is clear that Congress needs to act in order to affirm this nation’s commitment to a woman’s right to choose without governmental interference.  Therefore, I plan to re-introduce, with Senator Boxer, the Freedom of Choice Act, which will write the protections of Roe v. Wade into law.”
