Congressman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) today made the following statement regarding the death of Paul Johnson at the hand of Islamic militants connected to al-Qaeda:

"As all Americans, I am deeply saddened by the murder of Paul Johnson. Al Qaeda's killing of an innocent American is another reminder that the terrorist network must be totally and immediately dismantled. We must refocus our efforts on the war on terror to ensure that these truly evil terrorists are not free to further harm the American people.

"My thoughts and prayers are with Paul Johnson's family in this time of terrible tragedy."
