Statement of Reps. Maloney and Nadler on House 9/11 Health Bill Vote Next Week

U.S. Reps. Carolyn Maloney and Jerrold Nadler, authors of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, applauded the announcement this evening by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer that the Zadroga bill will be voted on next week on the House floor.  Maloney and Nadler released the following joint statement on next week’s vote:

“We thank Speaker Pelosi and Leader Hoyer for their commitment to bring the 9/11 health bill to the House floor for a vote next week.  The suffering of 9/11 first responders and survivors is an emergency call that has gone unanswered for far too long.  Next week, we hope to finally answer that call by passing the Zadroga bill and ensuring that Americans who are sick because of 9/11 have the care they need and deserve.  We hope that our colleagues on both sides of the aisle will join us in voting for this patriotic and long-overdue legislation.”
