Nadler Reacts to WTC Redevelopment Plans

Jul 15, 2002 Issues: 9/11 Attacks

NEW YORK -- Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) released the following statement regarding proposals for the redevelopment of the World Trade Center site, which were unveiled by the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation (LMDC) today.  Rep. Nadler represents New York's 8th Congressional District, which includes the site:

"The release of six designs for redevelopment on the site of the World Trade Center is an important step towards the eventual recovery of Lower Manhattan.  There are sure to be pros and cons with each proposal, so it essential that each design be carefully considered by area experts, residents, business owners, victims' families, and elected officials.  Only by doing so can we develop a final plan for the area that satisfies all the needs of Lower Manhattan as it continues down the road towards recovery.  I look forward to working with the Mayor, the Governor, the LMDC, and my constituents to come up with a final plan."
