Washington, D.C. – Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) released the following statement on President Joe Biden’s Executive Order on federal regulation and memorandum on modernizing regulatory review: “Yesterday’s action by the Biden Administration to modernize our rulemaking system and repeal harmful Executive Orders is welcome relief for American families across the country. It is critical that we use every tool to confront the COVID-19 pandemic, safeguard our communities, promote human dignity, and address the climate crisis. This important step by the Biden Administration will direct agencies to modernize and strengthen our regulatory system to ensure that it is transparent, responsive, and accountable. The Biden Administration has also repealed a series of harmful Executive Orders that prevented federal agencies from acting swiftly and effectively to confront the crises facing America. I applaud the Biden Administration for its dedication to moving forward with a bold agenda that is anchored in the belief that we must work together and take decisive actions to protect the environment, bolster public health and safety, promote economic growth and competitiveness, and improve racial equity and social welfare for all Americans.” |
