Congressman Jerrold Nadler will be attending the landmark marriage equality case being argued before the United States Supreme Court on Tuesday, April 28th. The four cases from Ohio, Tennessee, Michigan and Kentucky challenge state laws that prohibit same-sex couples from marrying and deny recognition to lawful marriages performed by other states. The Supreme Court will decide whether the Constitution guarantees same-sex couples the freedom to marry and to have their marriages respected nationwide. Congressman Nadler, lead sponsor of the Respect for Marriage Act, led an amicus brief in the marriage equality cases that are on appeal to the Supreme Court.
