Statement of Rep. Nadler on Bush Visit to New York

Sep 13, 2001 Issues: 9/11 Attacks

"I am most grateful for the opportunity the President afforded me today to travel back to my district in New York, and to tour the damage with him.  The recovery and rebuilding process is going to be a long and difficult one, and the President's words and actions today provided a much-needed lift to the many brave men and women working on this effort, as well as all New Yorkers.

I stand ready to work with the Administration in the weeks and months ahead to help my district and the nation recover from this cowardly act of terrorism.  I speak for all New Yorkers when I say New York will recover and rebuild, and prove to the world that we are the greatest city on the face of the earth."
